Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

Fit Cove LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the FitCove mobile application and related services. We value your privacy and the protection of your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. By using FitCove, you acknowledge and agree to the data practices described in this policy.

1. What We Collect and Why

Category Data collected Purpose
Identity & contact Name, email address, date of birth Account creation, authentication, age verification, and personalizing your experience
Training profile Fitness goals, experience level, available equipment, training schedule, race times Generating and customizing your training plan
Workout data Exercises, sets, reps, weights, difficulty feedback, exercise preferences Tracking your progress and adapting your program over time
Location & health data GPS location, distance, pace, heart rate, elevation, splits, calories Recording and displaying your runs, calculating training paces, and route mapping
Technical & diagnostics Device type, operating system, app version, diagnostic logs Maintaining service reliability, identifying and fixing bugs
Subscription & billing Subscription status, plan type, trial/renewal/expiration dates, and an Apple-provided transaction identifier Providing and validating your paid subscription, restoring purchases, and customer support

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or collect advertising identifiers.

Subscriptions & payments: FitCove offers an auto-renewable subscription with a free trial. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store — we never receive or store your payment card or billing details. Apple provides us with your subscription status and a transaction identifier so we can unlock paid features, restore your purchases, and provide support.

Sign in with Apple: You may create your account using Sign in with Apple. We receive only your name and email address — or, if you choose Apple's Hide My Email option, a private relay address (@privaterelay.appleid.com) instead of your personal email. We use this solely to authenticate you and send essential service messages; email-and-password sign-in is also available.

Apple HealthKit: With your explicit permission, we read and write workout data to Apple HealthKit. HealthKit data is processed on your device — we do not store it on our servers, and we never sell, share, or use HealthKit data for advertising purposes.

Wearable devices: FitCove supports an Apple Watch companion. When you use a connected watch during a run, it collects GPS location, heart rate, and distance data. This data is synced to your phone and uploaded to our servers as part of your run results.

Strava import: If you connect your Strava account and choose to import a run, we receive that activity's stats from Strava — distance, time, pace, heart rate, calories, and mile splits — and store them as part of your FitCove workout history. We read your Strava activities only when you view the import list or import a run you select; we never sync your Strava history in the background.

GPS & location data: We collect GPS location data only during active workout sessions that you initiate (e.g., starting a run). We do not passively track your location, collect location data in the background, or monitor your movements outside of workouts. GPS data is used solely to record your run route, calculate pace and distance, and display your activity on a map.

Health & fitness data: Heart rate, pace, distance, and workout performance data are collected to provide the Service and are not used for medical purposes. FitCove is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not rely on data displayed in FitCove as a substitute for professional medical monitoring.

2. How Is My Information Protected?

Your data is stored securely in the United States using industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and systems. While we take every reasonable precaution to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users by email within 72 hours and report to relevant authorities as required by law.

3. Who Is It Shared With?

We are not in the business of selling your data. We do not use your information for advertising. Your personal information is not sold, distributed, or leased to third parties without your permission or unless required by law. We share personal data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud hosting, authentication, and transactional email. AWS processes data solely on our behalf and under our instructions.
  • Apple: Apple processes your subscription payments and, if you use Sign in with Apple, your sign-in. We share only what is necessary to validate your purchases and verify your identity. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Strava (at your request): If you choose to connect your Strava account, we upload your completed FitCove runs to Strava, and we read your recent Strava running activities so you can import runs you recorded elsewhere into FitCove. We access your Strava data only to show you your recent runs and to complete imports you initiate — never in the background — and we never modify or delete your Strava activities. You can disconnect at any time from your profile settings. See Strava's Privacy Policy.
  • Support: Authorized personnel may access your account data to respond to support requests or troubleshoot issues. Access is limited to what is necessary and is logged.
  • Legal compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

4. What Are My Rights?

You may request to:

  • Access — receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you to verify lawful processing
  • Correct — fix incomplete or inaccurate personal information
  • Delete — erase your account and all associated personal data
  • Restrict — suspend processing of your data while a dispute or request is being resolved
  • Export — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object — stop processing of your data based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent — revoke permission for optional processing (e.g., HealthKit, Strava) at any time without affecting prior lawful processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@thefitcove.com.

EU users (GDPR): We process your data under contract performance, consent (HealthKit, Strava), and legitimate interest (diagnostics). Your data is transferred to the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California users (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

Consumer Health Data (Washington, Nevada & Connecticut): Some of the data we collect — your workouts, heart rate, GPS run routes, and other fitness and health metrics — is "consumer health data" under Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws in Nevada and Connecticut. We collect it only to provide the FitCove training service: generating and adapting your training plans, recording your runs, and syncing data you ask us to. We collect it from you, from devices you connect (Apple Watch, Apple HealthKit), and from integrations you enable (for example, runs you import from Strava). We do not sell your consumer health data and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers and integrations described above, and only as needed to run the Service or at your request (e.g., uploading a run to Strava or importing a run from Strava). You may withdraw consent and access or delete this data at any time by deleting your account in the app or contacting us at support@thefitcove.com; account deletion is immediate and permanent.

5. How Long Do You Keep It?

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law. Specific retention periods are available upon request. If you delete your account, we immediately remove your personal data — including your profile, training plans, workout history, GPS routes, and activity files. Data already uploaded to third-party services (e.g., Strava) is subject to those services' retention policies.

6. Cookies & Tracking

Our website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. We do not track users across third-party websites.

7. Age Requirement

Our services are not intended for persons under 18 years of age. We require a date of birth during registration and use technical measures to prevent persons under 18 from creating an account. If we become aware that a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information and terminate their account.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of FitCove after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Contact Us

If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at support@thefitcove.com.
